Meet Kit

Over the weekend, I gave birth to another avatar. Kit Mavendorf is my alt with an attitude. While I love Tiffer and she will always be my main avi, I had long been wanting an edgier alt to play with. Enter Kit.

For Kit I wanted a bit of a longer, thinner, almost hungry shape. After tons of shape shopping (I swear, I cannot make a decent shape to save my life!), I chose Body Doubles “Megan Fox” shape. Megan Fox is a bad-ass chick, so perfect for my alt! Kit is going to wear all those bad ass clothes that Tiffer can’t pull off. The skirt is from the Last Call closing sale that Tiffer wasn’t able to pull off. The boots were free from Adora and the shirts were free OnRez from Underthings. Also, I want to show off ink on Kit, unlike the piercings I use on Tiffer. These tats are from LessThan3 and are called “Fables.”

I picked up the skin and eyes from LessThan3 who have set out a new freebie box. The eyelashes were from the gift MinnuModelSkins had set out earlier this week. They are the “Dott” style. The fun zebra print jewelry is from the FreeStyle tent on the Juicy Boardwalk. The hair Kit is wearing is “Stranded” from Gurl 6, thanx to their awesome newbie voucher. Oh, and I’ve been dying to be a vampire! The fangs are new from Sentou Yousei and are the “Barnabas Fangs” that come bloody or clean (I haven’t bit anyone yet, so I’m wearing the clean version).

 

I am going to leave Kit open to do reviews. I don’t think that gothic, steam-punk, vamp, punk, etc. clothing gets reviewed enough or even shown enough on the feeds. I would love to be able to change that with Kit, and help all of you amazing underground designers get out there even more! Just drop anything you’d like me to review on Kit Mavendorf and I will get to it ASAP!

I honestly never thought this many people would read it and respond to it the way they have! Lemon Meets Lime

     I don’t usually blog freebies, just because between Free*Style and FabFree, they pretty much have them all covered. However, when I put on this whole outfit that was basically free and cute, I just had to blog it.

     The outfit is from AnnaH Couture’s new satellite location in the HoH Mall (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Tropical%20Escape/130/172/22) and is called “Vannessa.” It comes with tons of layers and different options of how to wear it: with the jacket and tube, the tube by itself, or the jacket by itself. If you look really close at my nails in the pic, they were free as well. Candy Nails (http://slurl.com/secondlife/LOVE%20TOKYO/114/51/22) is offering a free manicure (gloves) in Yellow/Green. While there, check out the other nails~they had tons of cute nails and toes for great prices! In the background, is the laundry set DP YumYum had out recently in a hunt. As for the other items pictured, I did pay for them. The hair is Maitreya’s “Mayte,” the shoes are Juicy’s “Classic Pumps in Green Pea,” and the skin is Fleur’s “Vivant Almond Blossom 1.”

And The Drama Goes On…

     I joined SL back in October of ‘07. At that time, I needed a place to come to escape RL. In my RL, I had finally hit a wall and knew I needed to change. I admited that I was suffering from depression, and sought the proper help. I realized that I had an addiction problem to alcohol, weed, and cocaine. To clean up my life, I had to leave behind friendships because they were enablers.

     I came to SL to get that break I needed from RL. For me, finding myself in a virtual world, has helped me find myself in ways that I would have never imagined possible. However, days like today force me to see that SL is not that different from RL. People are mean, dramatic, and just as hypocritical iSL as they are iRL, if not more so. I log on to SL to take a step back from RL, not to be bombarded with dramatic group notices, warnings of being careful what I comment on other blogs, and being told what to wear. Days like today make me want to leave SL. People do not realize the impact that their words have on others, and carelessly hit enter before they really think about what they have just typed. We may all just be “avatars” iSL, but behind that avatar is a real person. That real person has feelings. And although your words are just typed, they do carry just as much weight.

     This is my plea on my little blog for all of us residents of SL to step back and take a look at the big picture. While this may be a saying from the olden days, it really is a saying to live your real and virtual life by: Do until others as you would have others do until you. We all have drama iRL, let’s try to keep it out of SL as much as possible.

When SL ™ Influences RL

     Has anyone else bought/worn/saw something in their Second Life ™, and just felt like they had to buy/wear/do it in their RL? Or am I all alone on this one? Really, it’s OK if I am, wouldn’t be the first time.

     Wow, the pollen is starting to get to my head and I can tell that I am rambling even more than usual. Let me get to my point. A couple of months ago, I bought this great piercing from Freaking Fabulous Shit (FFS). This piercing pretty much is my permanent accessory. It includes a stud under the eye, a lip ring, and a medusa (piercing above the lip, under the  nose). Piercings and tatoos are painless iSL and easily removed. As I found out, not so much iRL. After looking at my avatar’s medusa piercing for a bit, I felt inclined to get one iRL. Now, I’ve had plenty of piercings in my RL face before (eyebrow, nose, tongue, septum, labret), so I figured this one would be a piece of cake. Not so! It hurt like hell…the needle going through the inside of my lip through each layer until it poked all of the way through…owowow! Rambling, again. ::curses pollen::

     The first pic is my avatar (obviously) and the second pic is real me in the flesh right after getting my medusa. I know, I look nothing like my avatar. Why would I want to look at myself all the time iRL and iSL? Am I rambling again?

     Alright, enough about what I did. I really just wanna know if anyone else’s SL has influenced their RL? I’m hoping I’m not the only one!

Not sure…it would be interesting to see a report done on the divorce rate iSL, though

9. Big wedding, small wedding, or no wedding at all? And do you get partnered BEFORE the wedding or afterwards?

Big wedding. SL is everyone’s fantasy world-live it up! And I would say get partnered after the wedding…seems more official that way.

10. Last question, and it’s of course back to the booty. Be honest, how many sex items [furniture and poseballs] do you have around your place?

none…I have no need for them…hence why I am the Least Sexual Person in Phil’s Place…lol

STFU

The fashion blogs have become a battle ground. Mean words are being thrown around fasting than I can spend a Linden ™. I’m a new blogger, and all this drama is making me doubt rather or not this is a world I want to be a part of. I live my life (my RL and Virtual) by one saying: IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, DON’T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. To put it plain and simple, and I do mean this as nice as possible, STFU! Let’s get back to the fashion!

Babysitting Tips from Amy Winehouse

Other than my SL (trademark, copyright, etc!) addiction, I have an addiction to celebrity gossip. From reading Perezhilton.com to US Weekly, I eat it up celebrity craziness like candy. One of my fave train-wrecks, Amy Winehouse popped up on TMZ.com yesterday holding a baby and taking a shot. Hey, at least she wasn’t hitting the crack pipe while holding the baby (I guess only ‘cuz that takes two hands)!

Anyway, after seeing the pic, I decided to grab my “Beautiful Baby” from Pudge, throw on my “Amy” hair from Aden, and go on my own baby-sitting adventures, Wino-Style.

First up, me and my babe hit the pub for a few shots of tequilla.

Next up, we took the babe up on the balcony, Michael Jackson-style, for a smoke.

All in all, it was a productive day: shots, cigs, and loving the children! And remember, if you black-out, you don’t know if the baby is crying or not!

Today’s Outfit is brought to you by…

Today’s outfit is brought to you by the letter “M.” Once I got dressed, I realized that just about everything I was wearing came from a store or brand that started with the letter M. So, as corny as I am, I ran with it. Anways, to get to what I’m wearing, let me start with the hair. A week ago, Minnu Model Skins sent their group members a sampling of their new hair. If you look at my Flickr pics, it was obviously love at first sight! I’m not a big fan of their skins, but their hair is FAB! It flows great and looks natural, and the blonde shading is perfection! The style pictured here is the “Messy Hair” in Natural Blonde. And, although I’m not a big fan of their skins, I am wearing their “Pale Freebie” in this picture (for some reason their gifts/freebies seem to rock my boat more than their skins in store).

 

Whew! With the skin and hair out of the way, let me get to the actual clothing! The jacket I’m wearing is the much-blogged-about Muism group gift. It is a fun jacket, but as mention on the other blogs, the prims just don’t sit right. However, I still heart it, and it made a great addition to the outfit. Underneath the jacket, my shirt is a group gift from Thimbles (I know, not the letter M). Thimbles is working on a new line of tube tops, and sent out a sample to the group members to see what we thought. Since, I’m wearing it, it obviously rocks! The pants also do not fit the letter M theme, but fit the outfit perfectly. They are the “Sam Jeans” from LeeZu Baxter. Finally, the shoes! And, they do fit the letter M theme- the sexy heels I’m wearing are the Maitreya “Verve Pumps” in Red.
