If I Never See Your Face Again… June 30, 2008

The sassy singer Rihanna has became an undeniable style icon in the past year. From her hair to her nails to her clothes to her shoes, she is always one to watch what she is wearing. In one of her most recent videos, she struts her stuff with Maroon 5. In “If I Never See Your Face Again,” Rihanna is simply smoking, and I just had to recreate her sultry looks. “Now you’ve gone somewhere else far away, I don’t know if I will find you…But you feel my breath on your neck, can’t believe I’m right behind you…”

The black number Rihanna rocks while singing with Adam Levine instantly reminded me of Ivalde’s “Alhidr SilverStriped BodySuit.” Instead of using the gloves that come with the outfit, I went with a pair from Candy Nail. The hair is “Edie” from Aden and is pretty close to Rihanna’s new shorter style.

“Take me down, but take it easy. Make me think, but don’t deceive me. Talk to me ’bout taking your time. ‘Cause you keep me coming back for more. And I feel a little better than I did before. And if I never see your face again, I don’t mind. ‘Cause we’ve gone much further than I thought we’d go tonight.”

I finally found an excuse to pull out my “Boudoir Chair” from LostAngels! The chair comes with 12 poses total, all of which are sexy. The lingerie I’m wearing is once again from Ivalde. The jewelry is a mix of Persona and Caroline’s Jewelry. The great skin I’m wearing is Tuli’s “Sultry.” The red lips are perfect on this skin!

So Very Pink June 27, 2008

I was on such a roll of posting RFL or pink items everyday this week. But, alas, and I am only human and slacked off a day. ::smacks hand “bad girl”:: Anyway, it’s Friday(!) and I am back to blogging! Today, instead of showing a RFL item, I decided to go with a pink outfit. Here we go…

Big Booty, Big Money is having a huge sale! It is set to end soon, so run, don’t walk, over there now! I am talking cheap folks, a sale that cannot be missed (there are even some FREE dresses in the store)! This is “Verty Pink Dress.” The color and the bouncy, almost tu-tu-like skirt is what drew me to this outfit. It is so fun and was under 50L! And gasp, it has a system skirt! That is two days in a row in a system skirt…

Next I have to mention my hair and jewelry. I usually go with blonde locks, but something about this style in black just called to me. This is Digit Darkes “Naturalee-Malibu-Straight” and was a gift from the wonderful and all too kind Sasy S. Since the top of the dress had some leopard print, I decided to play up that with the jewelry. The earrings are from Glamour Puss (I just did a shoot for them-look at for my sexy photos instore!) and are the “Tiger Print Hoops.” For the nails, I went with my fave Candy Nails in the “Tiger Bar. Version.” Also, my piercings are new! These are from Freaking Fabulous Shit and it’s the “Gentle” set.

Tricky Little Wednesday June 26, 2008

It’s Wednesday (well, almost the end of it) and day 3 of my Relay for Life week. Today, I went for an outfit consisting of two things I almost never wear- system skirts and pattern!

Ingenue’s “Tricky Little Wicky” is one system skirt and pattern I can not only deal with, but love wearing. The pattern is perfect for summer and not too much (I’m not a big fan of patterns gone overboard). This system skirt works for me because of the front gathering that makes it more flattering. What is also great about those gatherings is that the prim pieces come with a prim-resizer that makes adjusting so much easier.

I must mention my adorable new hair style! After having a big inventory ooopps last night (don’t ask how, but I deleted over 1/2 my hairs cleaning out my inventory), Tigerlily Koi kindly dropped some of her designs on me. This is Calla’s “Coriander”  and it’s just a nice easy summer look. Also, I want to mention that once again I visited RFL’s Cherry Blossom Festival to take my pics. If you haven’t gone, GO! It is so gorgeous and worth exploring!

Blossoming in Purple June 25, 2008

Today is day two of my Relay for Life wardrobe for a week. I bought today’s outfit way back during RFL’s Clothing Fair and never once wore it until now (my inventory truly seems like a black hole sometimes).

This is Bare Rose’s “RFL Purple Blossom.” I love the fun layering in the dress, and the flower detailing in the material gave me the idea of shooting at RFL’s Cherry Blossom Festival. The Virgin Sims 3 & 4 are absolutely stunning! I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the trees were! If you haven’t stopped by there yet, hop on over, take some pics, and enter them in their photo contest on Flickr.

Back to the dress…at the time of the RFL Clothing Fair, I believe I paid 250L for it (all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society). However, I checked at Bare Rose and a couple of other locations set up with RFL items and could not find the dress. If anyone is interested in buying the dress or knows where to purchase it, please post it here for everyone! However, if the dress is no longer available on the grid, I will sell mine to the highest bidder (I checked and it is Trans), and in turn donate the money to one of those pretty little RFL kiosks. I will accept offers via comments here or inworld and will announce and give it to the highest bidder Saturday.

Live Laugh Love June 23, 2008

     Yesterday, a close friend to my family lost her long battle with cancer. She was one of the most generous, caring, strong and amazing people I have ever had the honor of knowing. While I am thankful she is no longer suffering (she battled the disease for over 5 years), she will greatly be missed.

     My friend’s death has encouraged me to donate even more to Relay for Life. Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s main way of raising money. Here iSL, we have the wonderful oppurtunity to take part in our own virtual way. Tons of stores across the grid have made special items for purchase, with all proceeds going to RFL. Also, there are donation kiosks scattered across, where you can donate however much you feel inclined. Every linden helps. For the next week, I will be displaying items purchased from RFL vendors or either wearing pink items in honor of my friend.

 

     Icing’s “RFL Pink Miss Hathaway” was originally done in red. The pink, however, is more my style. The detailing on this dress is absolutely amazing. Icing really did a wonderful job of recreating Anne Hathaway’s gorgeous Oscar gown.

     The stunning ring is one of the latest creations for RFL. It is from Flirt and is called “Tiffany.” I am not a big jewelry person, but this ring was so beautiful, I just had to have it. Plus, diamonds really are a girl’s best friend

Purple Fashion Eater June 23, 2008

Purple is one of those great colors that works every season. Vests and jeans are great clothing items that work every season. Combine the two and you have one cute, casual, and stylish outfit!

The vest is “Mr. Worthington’s Diary” from Thimbles (where does she come up with those clothing names?!?) and this particular color was a group gift. My memory is shot and SL hates me today, so forgive me that I don’t remember if it was from the <3 Starlust Group or the Thimbles Group. Either way, it will still be in the archives, or you can head over to Thimbles to buy your own vest in your own fave color. The jeans are a pair of jeans that I don’t pull out enough from my inventory! They are from G.L.A.M and are their Regular Medium Wash. The great thing about these jeans is for one low price, you can wear them a gazillion ways (short shorts, bermuda shorts, or jeans).

Inventory Hidden Treasures June 20, 2008

Does anyone else have a perfectly (or atleast perfect for you) organized inventory? And, does anyone else file your purchases in it’s designated folder as soon as you purchase it? But, after trying your best to be organized, does anyone else have items that disappear in your perfect files? I hope I’m not the only one raising my hand (I’m pretty sure I’m not, though!). Recently, I remembered that during the grand opening rush of Archange, I had purchased an outfit. The name of that outfit or what it looked like had escaped my memory, but I just knew that it was in my inventory somewhere! After doing a quick search of “Archange” in my inventory, I (re)discovered “Dita” and was glad I did (as it gave me something to wear for a day and a half).

“Dita” includes a cute little babydoll top, a sweater (not pictured), and a black mini-skirt. The shades of mulberry in the shirt make it perfect to save for fall, and the gold along the bust helps make it look appropriate for summer. I love black clothes, but since I have 3 dogs and 2 cats iRL, it’s a pain in my arse to wear (unless I’m in the mood to lint-roll my clothes for an hour before I walk out the door!). So, iSL I try to indulge my love of black every once in awhile. The black mini skirt is fun and flirty, though the prim piece was a tad annoying (any prims I have to adjust become “annoying”-I know just about all prims have to be adjusted, but in my ideal SL-world, someone would do it for me!).

 

In conclusion, open up your inventory and dig through your well-organized folders. You may just get a pleasant surprise! And, as always, hold tight for the full list of what I’m wearing in the pics.

Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner June 18, 2008

Ivey Deschanel from Sn@tch releases an unbelievable amount of new quality releases every week. Where she finds the creativity, I have no clue! Last week, one of her recent releases caught my eye. “Where the Boys Are” features two tops (white and black) that you can wear with or without sleeves and three pairs of bermuda shorts. In the description for the outfit, Ivey put that it reminded her of something that Baby would wear in Dirty Dancing. I couldn’t agree more, so I ran with that idea for the pics I took of this outfit.

In the first pic, I wore the outfit with the first design of bermuda shorts and the white shirt with sleeves. I paired the outfit with Lassitude & Ennue’s “Chloe” flats in white, to finish off that casual vacation look that Baby perfected.

In the second pic, I went for the sleeveless shirt. Please, don’t ask me which one I prefer, because I honestly can’t decide!

About to Really Become Vintage June 17, 2008

I love a good sale! What I love even more is when that good sale is at one of my favorite stores! That current good sale is going on at Ivalde. They have tons of great outfits marked down from 1-100 Linden ™, that are about to disapear from the grid for good. Below are two of the gorgeous gowns that I picked up.

The big items I gravitate towards during clearance sales are gowns and for two reasons. The first reason being gowns are usually expensive, and don’t get worn as often as other clothes. The second reason, is that I like to wear gowns that are no longer available to events so that I am not spotted in the same dress as someone else (gasps! at the thought). This first gown is “Arsinoe Black Egyptian Princess Gown.” This gown was 100L and is simple, yet elegant.

This is Ivalde’s “Bjorg Salmon Gown.” I LOVE this gown! The detailing around the waist is stunning, and the way the color fades at the bottoms is gorgeous. I am definitly looking foward to an excuse to wear this gown!

Not included in the sale, but a must-have (and must-blog, for me), is “Svala Silver Shorts Set.” This set was released in 4 colors last week. I’m a sucker for shorts and animal prints, so this outfit was an easy sale to me.

All That Shimmers Turns To Glitter June 12, 2008

Clothes with glitter and shimmer are so much fun! They add a bit of shine to any look and are sure to get you noticed. In the past week, I happened to get two sparkley dresses and just had to take pics of them and post them!

The first outfit is the sexxy “Glimmer” from Digit Darkes. The detailing and texture is absolutely stunning on this outfit (as with every other outfit from the store!). I know this post is about the dresses, but I must mention the skin here, as well, because I love it! I had never really looked at skins from PixelDoll, but this group gift really caught my eye. This is “Stella di Roccia vII Tone C Gold Eye Crimson Lip.” I usually go for skins with heavier eye makeup and more subtle lips, but this one is pretty close to perfection if you want to play up your lips. The red lips are just right- not too much, not too little. This was a recent group gift, so you should still be able to get yourself a copy out of PixelDoll’s Subscribe-O-Matic.

This second dress is the perfect formal look for summer. This is WooT’s “Glow Turqoise.” The dress comes with many different skirt options, as well as the magnolia flower in numerous colors. The magnolia comes in between the breasts (couldn’t think of a better way to describe that!), but I chose to move it up on the shoulder.
